People’s attention spans are at an all-time low, ranking even lower than a goldfish’s. How do you break through the stream of video content that constantly floods a person’s feed? Try 360° video.
Why 360° video?
It’s different because it’s interactive. The viewer has complete control of what they see throughout the entire video, which catches people’s attention.
Though 360° video has been around for a while, it has just started to really surface. This medium has so much potential, you just need to know how to use it correctly!

A popular use of 360° video is a tour of your workplace to show people who you are and how you work. College Humor did an awesome video showing off their work space. It’s really great to see such a serious side from people who make such zany videos!
Show off what you do too. Product demos can be a lot more interesting when viewers can see it from multiple perspectives. Show off what you do, and how well you do it! Google gave a 360° tour of their entire data center to do just this.
360° video helps you educate people in an enhanced way that’s never been available before. A good example of this is CrashCourse’s video about the solar system, an immersive experience for all ages.
And last, but not least, record EVENTS! Events have so much going on that even when you’re physically there you can miss things! When you record in 360° nothing slips by! Send the video to anyone who missed the event and I’m willing to bet they won’t miss the next one. Intel did this with their highlight reels from Vivid Sydney this year.
There’s just so much you can do with 360° video, the sky is literally the limit! But, now that I shared all these great things you can create, the question you may be asking is how to do it! Stay tuned to this blog, because next week I’ll be going over exactly what you need to make great 360° content!
